The Elder Scrolls: IV Oblivion.

The Elder Scrolls: IV Oblivion is one of the defining games of the next generation of games. First of the mark let me just say that this game is the first RPG I have played so I have no other experience in RPG games. But I will try to compare it to other games I have played.

The Gameplay in oblivion is like nothing I have ever experienced after you have completed the tutorial you will find that you will want to explore everything the world has to offer and there is a LOT. The amount of time I have spent is incredible, the main quest story in oblivion is so immersive that it will make you want to play it in your first sitting this is flat out imposable as the main quest is 25+ hours. However if you will find that you will probably want to do other quests as you realize that the main quest is not just the only story you can take there are hundreds of quests ranging from retrieval missions to murdering people. There are also 4 guild quests you can take each one alone is 20+ hours just to complete. Oblivion also has a very engaging combat system where you hold down the left trigger to block and tap or hold the right trigger (for a power attack) and the bummers from magic attack. The combat system is not just devoted to weaponry but also to magic. There are literally tones of spells and the biggest array of weapons and amour I have ever seen in a game. However when you get the armour spells and weapons is entirely based on your level in the game. In fact literally every thing is based on you levels and skills. All this has a big learning curve depending on how many RPG you have played, but I found I was learning things which i had no knowledge of before the other day. The story follows you after being locked you from jail to find that the emperor Ural Septum is under threat from a cult called the Mythic Dawn. The emperor is escaping through your prison cell. The emperor has an amulet called the amulet of kings which is only thing guarding the Empire of Tamriel from the clutches of Oblivion (a world which resembles hell). The emperor Ural Septum gets assented trying to escape from the imperial palace. The emperor tells you to find his illegitimate heir give him the amulet to enable his heir to close shut the gates of oblivion. From there the story unfolds.

The voice acting is very well done unfortunately they seem to have only used 4 or 5 actors. However there is an up side the three main characters are voice by major Hollywood starts the emperor Ural Septum is voiced by Patrick Stuart(X-men trilogy) Martin Septum is voiced by Sean Bean (the Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring) and Terence Stamp voices Mankar Camoran (Star Wars episode 1 the phantom menace). The music is fantastic because it builds up great amount of atmosphere and will keep you riveted to the screen for ages.
All up the sound in general is great is one of the things that keep you in suspense.

The main problem in this game is the amount of glitches in the game which keep the Elder Scrolls: IV Oblivion from being the perfect game. It is very unlikely you will go through Oblivion and not encounter a glitch or two. It would have been it would have been better if Bethesda Softworks had waited a couple of months just to ion out the glitches Overall the Elder Scrolls: IV Oblivion is one of the best games have ever played period and is an instant classic. This is the game defines what the next generation in games is all about. Just would have been nice to have had no glitches in the game. Which keep it from being the perfect score.
